Topic: The New Science Center at Amherst College is a 250,000 square foot building that is constructed of “cast-in-place concrete”, (cost effective building technology which is energy and sustainably friendly), as well as glass curtain wall, metal panel and brick exterior and a flat membrane roof with green roof areas. The building will house café, classrooms, conference, laboratory, office and community spaces. The presentation will be a photographic look at the project from demolition of the former residence halls, site clearing, concrete foundation, structure construction, Tower Crane erection and use. The program will review the construction phases and the safe work practices of the project

The only parking that is available is located at the end of East Drive, beyond the Tennis Courts. Please do not park behind Merrill Science.
Depending on the number of attendees and weather conditions, a walk of the site may be possible. Attendees must have hard hat, safety glasses and reflective vest.
